The Cozy Kitchen warehouse is pumping out several custom projects this summer. Our latest design will add just the right amount of nautical to our client’s Outer Banks home. When our client requested a rustic boat bar, we were thrilled to take on this project and create a design that was both fun and functional.
We decided to use shiplap, HGTV star Joanna Gaines’ go-to material, as the base of the boat. The weathered and textured look of this wood was just the right fit for the client’s vision. We added a flat coat of navy paint and sanded it down to give it an aged look. The bar will be finished off with storage underneath and a solid mahogany bar top with lights that will brighten up the hull. The contrast of the weathered boat base and rich wooden bar top will blend together well and make a statement in this coastal home.
This shiplap boat bar will be the perfect addition to any game room or man cave once it is completed. The design stands alone as a work of art but also serves a purpose with its counter top and storage space for bar essentials. We are enjoying the challenge of this project and are excited to add our twist to the standard wet bar. Keep following the latest Cozy Kitchen News to see the finished product!
