Engineered stone is a non-porous man-made material consisting of approximately 93% quartz and 7% resin binders and pigment. It has the strength of granite, but is also much heavier.
Because it is non-porous, it is impervious to bacteria making it a hygienic food-safe choice. It is resistant to stains but can be damaged by high heat and prolonged exposure to heat or extreme sun light. It has the general appearance of natural stone, but with a consistent pattern and color.
